At Stress Management Solutions we are passionate about providing quality training programs that use cutting edge evidence-based research and training methods. Our lead trainer, Eric Nelson, has worked in the Mind-Body health field for over 30 years, and was a program officer at the Fetzer Institute for  22 years, developing programs in contemplative science and mind-body medicine.  Eric received his mindfulness training from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Insight Dialogue and Chelsea Meditation and has taught meditation since 1987.

Trainer Bio

Eric Nelson, is the owner and lead trainer for Stress Management Solutions, established in  2011.  Eric has over 25 years teaching experience as a mindfulness and meditation trainer. Eric received a BA and MA in Social Psychology and Organizational Communication from Western Michigan University. Eric has completed mindfulness training which includes:

  • University of Massachusetts Medical Center
  • Insight Dialogue, Metta Fondation
  • Insight Meditation Society
  • Chelsea Meditation
  • Dzogchen Center

Eric has practiced mindfulness for over 40 years and began teaching in 1986.  He is the founder of Stress Management Solutions, an organization devoted to training individuals and groups to maximize health, well-being,  productivity, and interpersonal communication.

Eric served for 22 years as a Program Officer at the Fetzer Institute, in Kalamazoo, MI.  He developed programs in the US, Middle East, Asia and India, in the fields of Complementary Medicine, Contemplative Science and Practice, Interfaith Dialogue and Social Healing.  He worked with a wide range of leaders including:
